ABOUT THE DUNN INN RESORT FREMONT MI

A FAMILY TYPE RESORT...with a friendly atmosphere, located in an un-congested area, yet near several fine restaurants, stores, churches, bowling, roller skating, movie theater, and golf courses. It is an ideal place for a family vacation. Our northwest shore location on Fremont Lake affords easy access to the city of Fremont. The lake is approximately 800 acres in size and abounds with a large variety of pan fish: large and small mouth bass, northern and walleye pike, perch, bluegills, and crappies.

Over the past 59 years our family has embraced the almost lost tradition: the rustic log lake resort. Fremont is the home of Gerber Products Company, baby food capital of the world. The Gerber Company sponsors the National Baby Food Festival every year in mid-July. Fremont is located 46 miles northwest of Grand Rapids and only ten miles from the Muskegon River, known for its fine walleye, steelhead, and salmon fishing.

Our resort offers cottages of log-type construction, complete with the modern facilities summer visitors seek, and the resort grounds surrounding each cottage to the waterfront are restful and pleasing, with spacious lawns. The bathing beach affords perfect safety for children and adults alike, swimmers finding the sand-bottomed area deepens gradually from shore.

Our cottages are all lakefront, traditional log cabins and completely furnished, except the linens. They consist of a wide variety of fine accommodations and price ranges. The cottages have fully equipped electric kitchens with ample dishes and cooking utensils, hot and cold water, and full size baths with showers. A Letter From the Owners, Brian and Carol Frens:

Dear Friends,

We happily welcome back our guests each season. Thank you all so very much for your overwhelming encouragement, support and compliments on the newly renovated cabins and landscaping.

Many of you vacation with us year after year with some families renting, all four cabins, every season for 20 to 35 years. This year we were delighted by a surprise visit from a family who due to illness, could not enjoy their usual vacation with us after 40 years!

It’s been a great joy getting to know you all. Your presence has been such a positive part of our lives with the transitions we went through with Mom’s death in 2018.  Many of you knew my Mother, Jean Henderson. She was a delightful, friendly lady.  When my husband Brian and I came on board to help with the resort she was grateful for the changes to the resort. She knew our desire to continue the traditions of the Dunn Inn Resort, as a family friendly resort that creates a peaceful, tranquil place of sanctuary for all of our guests. Many of you have expressed you have been able to leave work at work and truly be at ease during your restful time at our cabins.

I worked in the health care industry for years caring for others and respecting their privacy. Brian runs our 65 year old farm and so we both have a no nonsense approach to getting work done. Brian and I thank you all for your patience during our recent renovations, upgrades and of course during our regular maintenance schedule.* We ask all of you to continue to let us know when something needs repairing or replacing. Our resort is running so much smoother than ever before in our 59 year history.

We feel blessed and in our daily walk and we prefer to plant seeds of growth, for the betterment of our guests, friends and family, nurturing one another during our time here, in unity, lifting one another up. Brian tries to take time from his busy farm schedule to stop by the cabins and greet each one of you, sharing stories and a few laughs.

You have helped make this all happen. Your support matters. We hope that our little peace of heaven on Fremont Lake will continue to be a home away from home for however long you come; rest play and make more memories!! Each time, when you go home we pray your spirits have been lifted and energized until we see you again the next year. Blessings to you all!

-- Carol and Brian Frens.
